Established in the UK in 1972, RAM Spreaders rapidly won acceptance from ports in the UK, the USA and Asia for its range of fixed and telescopic spreaders. Following a successful regional trading partnership, the business was acquired by NSL Engineering (Formerly known as NatSteel Engineering), part of the NatSteel Group, in 1992. Today RAM Spreaders operates under the name of NSL Engineering and is part of a major business group including construction, chemical, property, technology and investment interests.

RAM Spreader's founder Robert Mills continues to play an active role in the company's commercial and technical developments in the role of Executive Director.

With the financial strength and support of the Group and continued independence within the industry, RAM Spreaders has fostered excellent working relationships with many crane manufacturers and ports throughout the world.

Design, development and manufacturing continues to take place in Singapore and in the company's original UK facility, enabling the company to achieve lower cost and faster reaction to market demands. The two facilities have a combined production and development resources to provide maximum ability to respond to demand.

After-sales services and parts support are provided by qualified technical staff in Singapore, UK, through service centres on both the East and West coasts of the USA, in South Korea, Belgium and China, and through various sales and service agents worldwide.
